The Flying Banana Train
The Network Rail New Measurement Train, which soften referred to as the flying banana train after it’s yellow paint scheme, is a converted intercity 125 HST set. It is used as a track and infrastructure recording set. And is operated with two class 43 power cars (one situated at each end of the train) and a rake of five mk3 coaches. The power cars, which can maintain a top speed of 125mph, are in distinctive Network Rail yellow livery. Each of them are branded with the Network Rail logo and improving your railways is in black text on the side. The yellow mk3 carriages are equipped with computers to determine the condition of the track and overhead wires. There is a forward facing camera positioned on the front and rear end of the former British Rail power cars.
